Learning Chinese and Exploring the Local Culture – Agriculture

◎Course Objectives
Pingtung County is known for its agriculture, producing a wide variety of high-quality agricultural products. This course combines the unique features of local Pingtung agriculture with ample Chinese language content, and through real-life visits to specialty ‘tourist farms,’ language learning becomes far more interesting. Not only do participants improve their Chinese language ability, they also gain a better understanding of the features of Pingtung agriculture and the culture of local industry. The course promotes Chinese learning and an appreciation of local Pingtung agriculture.
◎Eligibility
Adults, 18 years or older, who are either overseas Chinese students studying at NPTU or foreign nationals.
◎Course fees
The course is offered completely free of charge.
◎Registration period
Starting from today until April 10 (Wed); or until the course is full (maximum 30 students).
◎Registration methods

  2. Registering by mail: Fill in the application form and mail it to the National Pingtung University Language Center – No. 1 Linsen Rd, Pingtung City, Pingtung County 900.
  3. Registering by fax: Fill in the application form and fax it to 08-7226409.
 
◎Course venue
2nd floor language classrooms, Jing-Yie Building, Linsen Campus, National Pingtung University.
◎Course content and class schedule
  1. Learn professional Chinese vocabulary and grammar patterns.
  2. Take field trips to learn about special local industries with high economic value.
  3. Experience fruit-picking first-hand, as well as the steps involved in harvesting specialty agricultural products.

◎Relevant rules and regulations
  1. On the first day of class, please bring your passport or ARC so that we may check and confirm it matches the information used when registering (name, passport or ARC no., etc). Please also evaluate your physical and mental state, and don't force yourself to take part if you're not feeling well.
  2. If any details have been omitted from or overlooked in these regulations, the Language Center reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel event content at any time throughout the event, and to publish the amended regulations on the event website.
